Mud Bay is one of those places that most people don’t pay attention to as they head past at 90 kmh – it’s worth thinking about though as it is one of the places on Vancouver Island that is a visible sign of the uneasy truce between logging and aquaculture.
Baynes Sound is home to several log dump and sort operations – places where logs are transferred from logging trucks and assembled into log boom. It’s also home to water that is used extensively for the farming of scallop, oyster, and clams.
