
A mystery ship at the Ladysmith Community Marina
As it turns out, this ship has a name, and a lengthy history. It took a bit of research and luck, to find out her names and owners over the years. She was built in 1940 for the Royal Canadian Navy, for use as an ammunition lighter, with a pennant number of H.70. Likely she was stationed at the Esquimalt Naval Dockyard.
- At some point she was reclassified as a Harbour Craft, and her number was changed to H.C. 108
- In 1961, she was sold to Coal Island Ltd., and renamed to Coal Island (II)
- In 1962 she was rebuilt at New Westminster BC
- In 1964 she was rebuilt at North Vancouver BC
- From 1969-1972 she was owned by Inter-Tidal Industries Ltd.
- In 1973 she was purchased by Michael C. Green and John Menzies
- In 1974 she was purchased by Milbanke Industries Ltd., and renamed to Milbanke IV
- From 1976-1979 she was not listed in the Canada List of Shipping
- In 1980-1991 she was owned by Tymac Transportation Ltd.
- From 1992-2001 she was owned by Seafinn Marine Services Ltd.
- From 2003-2013 she was owned by Allan Brunet, Sointula BC.
