Peggy’s Point Lighthouse

Located on a barren rock outcrop at the entrance to St. Margaret’s Bay the Peggy’s Cove Lighthouse, was and remains, officially the Peggy’s Point Lighthouse as its purpose is to mark the point, not the cove.  The lighthouse is a Classified Federal Heritage Building.

  • Tower shape: octagonal tower with balcony and lantern
  • Markings / pattern: white tower, red lantern
  • Tower height: 15 metres (49 ft)
  • Height Above Water: 20 metres (067 ft)
  • Focal height: 22 metres (72 ft)
  • Range: 10 nautical miles (19 km; 12 mi)
  • Characteristic: Fl R 5s.
