Seacow Pond, PEI
Seacow Pond derives its name from the large herds of walrus, commonly referred to as “sea cows,” that once inhabited the area. These animals were plentiful in the late 1700s and early 1800s, and their legacy continues today through local place names such as Seacow Pond and Seacow Head.
In the distance, the wind turbines at the North Cape Wind Farm can be seen.
