
Strait Hunter in Nanaimo
The R/V Strait Hunter is a survey and research platform owned and operated by McGregor Geoscience. The ship is currently conducting seabed mapping for proposed LNG marine pipeline routes near Prince Rupert.

Deck and laboratory space:
- Aft Lab: Air conditioned, 700 sq. ft with counters and work stations, direct access to main deck aft. Communications from aft lab through intercom, plus aft deck, fwd deck and galley to bridge.
- Main Deck Aft: 1220 sq. ft. reinforced steel, clear deck. Open to stern ramp. Equipped with various cranes and winches.
- 0-1Deck: 700 sq. ft. steel deck, support for winches with room for modular lab or storage container. Various rigging possibilities from the two masts and stay wires.
- Moon Pool/Sonar Tube: 42″ diameter located amidships from main deck to bottom of keel.
- Scientific Equipment: Includes seismic compressors, air gun arrays and multi beam systems.
