Englewood Railway EMD SW1200
If you happen to be around Woss and you happen to like railways and logging, well, you really ought to take the time to visit the last operating logging railroad in North America – Western Forest Products Englewood Railway.
The Englewood Railway runs 90 km from Vernon Lake, through Woss, past Nimpkish Lake Provincial Park to Beaver Cove.
The railway operates EMD SW1200 locomotives, rebuilt with 1,500 hp (1,100 kW) Caterpillar engines, larger fuel tanks, and with triple headlights (middle, left, right) at both ends. They were delivered from EMD with dynamic brakes in order to cope with the long descent from Woss to tidewater at Beaver Cove.
