Along the beach

I normally do not post bits and pieces about my life – in part because I try to keep the  focus on images of Vancouver Island, and partly because the Internet is the playground of people who are less than ethical.

Anyhow, I was poking about on the beach near River Mouth Settlement in Campbell River when I spotted this piece of bark from a Birch tree.

Besides nicely matching my jacket and shoe laces, it reminded me of a model of a Birch bark canoe that my father made many years ago.
