These are either Dog Whelks or Periwinkles – either way, they illustrate nature’s amazing tenacity

Lancaster

A dismal day always has opportunities for photography at the Greenwood Military Aviation Museum, and besides, the sun might make an appearance to brighten things up a titch.

National Military Cemetery

_DSC0075

Visiting the National Military Cemetery affords me an opportunity to stop and think about the vast numbers of Canadians that lost their lives in war and peace. As a retired military member it reminds me of the harm that the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces face, and the futility of war.

Baxter Harbour Falls

20190328_145306_HDR

I’d heard that Baxter Harbour Falls was worth visiting, so I decided to visit in the middle of winter. I’m glad that I did as despite the cold day, the sun was shining and the falls were beautiful. I had hoped that the falls would create some spectacular ice formations – yup, there was some really nice ice.

The falls are the result of Fraser Brook dropping 50’ onto the shore of the Bay of Fundy

And for those who enjoy geocaching, there is a geocache in the area. The next time I visit I will try to remember to bring a mapping GPS with me so I can search for the cache.
