Atlantic Canada,Nova Scotia,A bit of Nova Scotia,Wolfville Train Station,rail,train,history

The Wolfville station was built in 1912 to replace the previous wooden rail station that was destroyed by fire in 1911.

The Station was abandoned in 1990 when the Dominion Atlantic Rail (D.A.R.) ceased passenger service in the Annapolis Valley, and was later purchased by the Wolfville Library Foundation.

The building was recognized as a Municipally Registered Property heritage property on June 26, 1993.

A rainy day at Port Williams

Cornwallis River – Port Williams

Cornwallis River – Port Williams

Rain, water, wood – a rather soothing combination for a person that grew up on the east coast of Vancouver Island. I don’t mind the rain, but this particular moment in my life, sitting in a warm brewpub seemed to be a very good idea.

“Come with me Piglet”, I said, “Let’s join Pooh for a nosh and a pint…”
