A Blackbird on a boat at Fisherman’s Wharf in Comox

I spotted a splash of blue while poking about in the area between the old Headquarters power station and the Tsolum River – being me I had to take a look to see what it was.

A can – and not just one, but a bunch of old cans rusting away after they were tossed on the ground.

I tend to have cameras with me so I shot a bunch of images of the blue can that had caught my attention. As it turns out, this was a can that contained antifreeze.
This could have been used at the old power station, but I think it will likely remain a mystery and a memory…

Canadian Pacific 5468 is a Mikado P-2k class 2-8-2. It was one of 12 P-2ks built for the Canadian Pacific Railway by Montreal Locomotive Works, specifically for use in the mountains of British Columbia.

After being retired from active service in 1954, 5468 was stored in Delson, Quebec until 1993 when it was returned to Revelstoke, and put on display at the newly constructed Revelstoke Railway Museum. 5468 is one of only three remaining Mikado P-2k locomotives.
