I shot this picture of the Comox Glacier on a trip out to Comox Lake on a beautiful fall day – one of the last days of October and a rare day of sun that came between some major frontal systems that dumped rain on much of coastal British Columbia.
A nice picture of the Glacier and the lake – but also a picture that prompted a bit of digging back through my image archives after we took a close look at the tree stumps in the bottom middle of the image. We had been standing right beside those stumps in September, and as shown below, had poked about in Comox Lake looking for bits and pieces from the days of log booming on the lake.
The stumps are rather large.
And if you scroll back up, you can really get an idea of how much the level of Comox Lake can change over a relatively short period of time.
