Heading into Westview Terminal aboard the Queen of Burnaby
At first glance it might be annoying that much of the Queen of Burnaby is closed to passengers – all of deck 5 is closed, and below, you can’t go further forward of the doors out of the forward passenger lounge on deck 4.
It’s due to economics and safety – the ferry traffic is low so BC Ferries does not need as many staff members, which in turn means that they can’t effectively clear deck 5 in an emergency. Such is life…
I’ll miss standing in the wind and watching the world go by, talking to the crew, or just lazing on a life jacket locker and enjoying a cup of coffee while reading a book.
