The railway bridge over the Annapolis River at Middleton
The railway bridge is near the confluence of the Annapolis River and the Nictaux river, east of Highway 1 at Middleton. One of two rail trails in the area, the Shore/Annapolis Rail Trail runs from New Germany to Bridgetown, to Nictaux, Middleton, and Clarence. There are over 30 bridges on the trail.
The two rail trails, all meet at a wye in Middleton, with the Shore/Annapolis Rail Trail, running pretty much west and east in this section, and the Annapolis County Rail Trail, running pretty much north/south in this area.
