The smoke house and winch shack – Anderson Cove
There’s a story that fisherman and fish plant owner Bobby Longmire fixed up an old winch shed at Anderson Cove and turned it into a small museum. There’s no hint of a museum, but a sign on the building reads “Anderson Cove & Ghost of Miss Anderson.”

Local lore has it that Miss Anderson was engaged to be married to a fisherman, and one day he never came back. The distraught woman walked along the shores looking for him at night, and he still never came back. She was so distraught she got in a boat and went out to look for him, and while she never came back, it’s presumed they found each other…

When singer/songwriter Lisa Huyer went to work at the fish plant in Anderson Cove, she wondered what the sign on the little red shed was all about. When she was told about the ghost of Miss Anderson, she wrote a song – The Song of Miss Anderson.
