Founded in 1960 as branch of United Elastic Limited based in New York,Britex (BRIdgetown TEXtiles) manufactured elastic textiles used in a large variety of garments produced in other factories. The factory closed in 2004.

CFS Shelburne
Much of the former CFS Shelburne has been overgrown and vandalized since the station was decommissioned on 1 August 1994.

Nova Scotia Church – Lawrencetown
Another deconsecrated and empty church – this one in Lawrencetown in the Annapolis Valley. St. Andrew’s Anglican Church is a registered Municipal Heritage Property in the Municipality of Annapolis County, officially registered, August 18th, 1992.
