The upper section of Brooklyn Creek flows down toward , Mack Laing’s first house after he moved to Comox in 1922.

Mack Laing’s second house, Shakesides was built in 1950, and was  in 1973 donated by Laing, along with his property to the town of Comox, for people to enjoy and appreciate nature.

Sadly, both Baybrook and Shakesides have fallen into disrepair, to the point where they can not be refurbished – they are both slated for demolition.
