You may have been thinking of “O Canada”, the national anthem, but in this case the spelling is deliberate.
“O Canada” had served as a de facto national anthem since 1939, and officially became Canada’s national anthem on 01 July 1980 by an Act of Parliament.
I’m thinking more along the lines of “oh… Canada” – as in what the heck has happened…
