The Dartmouth approach
Completed in 1955, the long Angus L. Macdonald Bridge spans Halifax Harbour to connect Halifax with Dartmouth. The Macdonald Bridge was converted from a two-lane to a three-lane structure with a pedestrian walkway and bicycle lane in 1999.

There was a rather nice sunset as we headed onto the Highway101 twin bridges over the Gasperaux River, just to the west of Avonport.
The Nova Scotia provincial government named the 301 km controlled access Highway101 as the Harvest Highway on 7 December 2008 to recognize the important contributions of farmers in Nova Scotia.
