The Englewood Railway of Western Forest Products transported logs by train for 100 years on northern Vancouver Island. The line was shut down November 7, 2017 after three workers died and two were injured when a train hit a maintenance car and work crew on the tracks at Woss, April 20, 2017.

The Englewood operated four EMD SW1200 locomotives, three of which had been rebuilt with 1,500 hp Caterpillar engines that replaced the original 1,200 hp EMD engine.  The locomotives were fitted with triple headlights at both ends, and larger fuel tanks to handle the 200 km round trip from Vernon Lake, through Woss, past Nimpkish Lake Provincial Park, and into to Beaver Cove.

Englewood Units 301 to 303 were originally owned by Canadian Forest Products, and Englewood Unit 304 was purchase from Coos Bay Lumber Company.
