The Esquimalt & Nanaimo Railway (E&N Railway) boasts a captivating history on Vancouver Island.
The Island Corridor Foundation is the proprietor of the E&N Railway, which is currently largely inactive. Despite facing numerous challenges, there are ongoing efforts to preserve and possibly rejuvenate it for both freight and passenger services.
The slow encroachment of nature on the railway tracks adds a touching aspect to its historical importance.
The 107 (Valley) Wing, Greenwood, Nova Scotia Cenotaph consists of a granite stone set upon a concrete base, with an “Argus” propeller mounted on a 7-foot steel “I” beam behind it. The bilingual inscription on the stone states:
“Dedicated to all personnel who served in the R.C.A.F.A., B.C.A.T.P., Allied Air Forces, and Canadian Armed Forces, in memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Aviation. We will remember them.”
