The Condensory Road Bridge over the Puntledge River is a superb example of an old wood piling bridge, one of the few left on Vancouver Island.

It is quite similar in size, appearance, and construction to the bridge over the channel at the Esquimalt Lagoon.

The bridge is an interesting place to be when trucks and cars pass over – it shakes and almost sways a bit.




Now the history bit – Condensory Road was named for a milk condensing plant that was upstream of the bridge – condensed milk, nasty stuff.
