The 2015 19 Wing Comox Armed Forces Day and Air Show is fast approaching – this is a great family event with interesting displays, and lots of flying!

The CC-150 Polaris (Airbus A310-300s) is a multi-purpose, twin-engine, long-range jet aircraft that can be converted for passenger, freight or medical transport and air-to-air refuelling. As part of the Air Force Multi-Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) program, two CC-150 Polaris aircraft were converted to strategic air-to-air refuellers for Canada’s fleet of CF-18 Hornet fighter aircraft.

The CJ-6, is a two-seat basic trainer and light attack aircraft designed and manufactured by China-based company Hongdu Aviation Industry Group (formerly Nanchang Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation) for the People’s Liberation Army Air Force (PLAAF).
It is also fitted with multifunctional display, radio communication and navigation equipment, distance measuring equipment, rate of climb indicator and air data computer.
The CJ-6 is an all-original Chinese design that is commonly mistaken for a Yak 18A.
