Salt Spring – Vesuvius Bay

When you live on Vancouver Island you learn to get used to waiting for ferries – and to enjoy the opportunities to relax that the wait affords. I relaxed with a few cameras while waiting for the ferry from Vesuvius on Salt Spring to Crofton on Vancouver Island.

Looking toward Croton

Vesuvius is one of the three ferry terminals on Salt Spring, the others being at Fulford Harbour and Long Harbour.

Queen of Burnaby – a windy day

A windy day produced some good size waves on Georgia Strait – and a bumpy ride for BC Ferries Queen of Burnaby as she left the Little River terminal for Powell River.

I like waves and wind, but they do make it challenging when trying to shoot video as I was getting buffeted by the wind, and the waves were sending salt spray and bits of sea weed on the camera.
