The Comox Lake impoundment dam spillway

Water flows over the spillway when the level of Comox Lake reaches 135.33 meters above sea level.
The Comox Lake dam is a 142 m-long concrete gravity structure with a crest elevation of 137.55 m. Outflow is controlled by two sluice gates that are 4.27 m wide x 7.32 m high. The sill elevation of the sluice gates is 128.93 m. The overflow spillway is 15 m long at 135.33 m elevation. The dam is equipped with a fish ladder for fish passage. The probable maximum flood flow is estimated to be 1,500 m3/s, which would result in a maximum lake elevation of 139.9 m.
