I took a quick trip out to Comox Lake in late July to check the water level at the forebay area of the BC Hydro impoundment dam – besides providing a great visual indication of the water level, I can check the hydrometric data to get an accurate water level as well as the inflow and outflow rates for the lake.

Looking at the dam spillway, it’s obvious that BC Hydro has been doing some great water management as has the Comox Lake reservoir close to capacity – that is a very good thing as August and September are typically the driest months with very low inflow rates.
