There I was, at Piper’s Lagoon looking across Georgia Strait to the Sunshine Coast and the Pacific Ranges of the Coastal Mountains.
The light was rapidly fading at 3:30 and soon it would be too dark for handheld shots. I keep forgetting how short the days are at this time of the year, except when I am planning a trip to Ucluelet, Bamfield, or Tahsis – then I know exactly how little daylight there is.
A bit of Photoshop magic with graduated filters allows me to brighten things up and remove the blue hour colour cast that many people strive for – I don’t like it myself so black and white often becomes my choice.
Short days, but on the bright side this is a good time of year for night shots…
