One of several derelict ships in Deep Bay, Lorna Foss sank early on the 5th of April, 2016, raising serious concerns for nearby oyster beds and the Vancouver Island University (VIU) Deep Bay Field Research Station.

    As a maritime photographer and historian based out of Seattle, I’m saddened and disappointed that our historic Lorna Foss was allowed to sink because of neglect. Our Foss #15 Elf met a similar fate in Canadian waters.
