Buckley Bay is an interesting section of the E&N as it was a flag stop and had a spur line – there is little evidence of the flag stop structures but the spur line is intact.

It’s a bit of an anomaly as well, as the level crossing is marked as mile 126.2 and the rail evaluation reports list the bridge over Buckley Bay Road as being at mile 126.15. Not a big deal but the bridge is to the north of the crossing and further away from where mile 0 once was.
At least the spur line and flag stop makes sense as they are listed as being at mile 126.1, about 550 feet to the south of the old level crossing.
