Under sail heading toward Merry Island
Merry Island Lighthouse marks the southeast entrance to Welcome Passage, between Thormanby Islands and the southwest side of Sechelt Peninsula.
It consists of a square base, with a tower (12 metres (40 feet) in height) rising from the corner of the building. Two red maple leaves, sculpted in relief, add to the visual interest of the lighthouse.
Section 103 – the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces
The central monument of Section 103 is dedicated to the men and women of the Canadian Forces who served our country with honour and distinction. The monument is located at the top of a ceremonial walkway, and is flanked by two flagpoles; one flies the Ensign of the Canadian Forces and the other flying the Canadian flag.
Behold – the Eastern Grey Squirrel starring me down in Ottawa.
Black squirrels are melanistic grey squirrels, just like a black panther is to a leopard. The black ones are said to be slightly more tolerant of cold and camouflage better in thick forest.
St. Andrew’s Anglican Church is a registered Municipal Heritage Property in the Municipality of Annapolis County, officially registered, August 18th, 1992.
At least that’s the plan…
