The train don’t run here anymore – Ellerhouse Road


Ellerhouse Road – Mile 23.24 from Windsor Junction on the Halifax Subdivision

I had driven past the Ellerhouse Road rail crossing several times but did not stop as it looked like just another disused section of rail line. On this day I spotted something that compelled me to stop.


One end of the line has been removed, but in the distance I saw a bridge – a rail bridge.



I ventured part way out on the bridge and then turned back as the ties were in poor shape – not surprising as the train don’t run here anymore…
