The train don’t run here anymore, but things are still locked up.
The Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway once operated freight service between Courtenay, Port Alberni, and Victoria, as well as the Dayliner passenger service between Courtenay and Victoria.

The only rail traffic now is a few tank cars out of the Wellcox yard in Nanaimo, heading into North Nanaimo.

Along with the decaying track and bridges, the rusting locks on switches and signal boxes are a silent reminder that the Esquimalt and Nanaimo Railway and rail on Vancouver Island are only fading memories.
