C-GCHJ – a Helijet Sikorsky S-76C air ambulance on the helipad at St Joseph’s General Hospital, Comox B.C.
The Helijet Sikorsky S76 is configured to to accommodate up to 2 stretcher patients and 4 medical attendants. The aircraft is primarily used in patient transfers within a 100 mile radius of its Richmond base to or from hospitals, airports and/or on the scene calls.

The E&N (Esquimalt and Nanaimo) railway trestle over Coal Creek, at mile 123 of the Victoria Subdivision.
The trestle is 35 feet high and 115 feet long, with three spans; 30’-3”, 48’-10” and 33’-3.



I stood under the wing of the Canadair CP-107 Argus at the Comox Air Force Museum and shot a bit of video while waiting for the rain to stop – that’s water pouring off the trailing edge of the Argus wing…

The Boeing Vertol (formerly Piasecki) H-21A was a single engine, tandem rotor helicopter acquired by the RCAF in 1954 and used primarily for search and rescue work. The Piasecki was also used by the RCAF in transport duties associated with the construction of the various radar chains across Canada.
The H-21 was employed in Comox by 442 Squadron in the SAR role until replaced by the Boeing Vertol Labrador.
