The Jordan River Surf Shack

Sometimes all you need is a nice shack on the beach, a quiet spot where you can relax, watch the waves, have some fun and maybe go surfing, right?

Not exactly.

In Jordan River you need a plan – a plan to pack up and get up to higher ground really fast as this is in the tsunami zone, and the flood path in the event on an earthquake that could cause BC Hydro’s Jordan River dam to fail.

I’ll take the risk and I have a personal evacuation plan that would see me head about a kilometer further along Highway 14 toward Port Renfrew. A safe spot and a good view of what happens…
